“And there was war in heaven.  Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his angels. And the dragon lost the battle, and he and his angels were forced out of heaven.  This great dragon–the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world–was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.  Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, ‘It has come at last–salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ.  For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth–the one who accuses them before our God day and night.  And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.  And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.  Therefore, rejoice, O heavens!  And you who live in the heavens, rejoice!  But terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.” Revelation 12: 7-12

“Be careful–watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy.  He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart.” 1 Peter 5:7

Accepting the Good News that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our transgressions and was raised from the dead by the Father to life eternal as our Lord and Savior makes us the children of the Most High God. It also instantly makes us the enemy of Satan the ancient serpent because he’s been kicked out of heaven and is doomed, while we as children of God have not only been let in, but are now heirs to that Kingdom in Christ Jesus.  We are being honored by God even above the honor that Lucifer enjoyed while he was in heaven.  We must defend that status and each other with every breath we take because the only objective Satan has is to cause us to return to “The Walking Dead” spiritual state we were in prior to our salvation.  If we die our physical death while spiritually dead, we will not inherit the Kingdom of God.  That is the ancient serpent’s endgame.

Scripture is clear about the weapons and methods that defeat the devil: The Blood of the Lamb and our testimony.  We are expected to become experts with these weapons if we have any hope of overcoming the enemy and his legions. The battle is not against flesh and blood.
